Capri Theater

The Capri Theater is a historic and beloved theater located in the North Minneapolis community and situated on the popular West Broadway street. Built in 1927, it was originally called The Paradise Theater and was primarily used as a movie theater. In 1967, it was renamed The Capri and throughout the years has undergone a series of renovations making it host to all kinds of theater productions, concerts and film screenings.

The Capri's claim to fame is a performance in 1979, when it gave the spotlight to Minneapolis-born artist, Prince in what is said to be his first solo show ever. The space is now run by the Plymouth Christian Youth Center, who have made it a special place for artists all around the Twin Cities to showcase their talents, putting a heavy focus on the North Minneapolis community.

Experience history and be a part of the local community when you visit The Capri Theater.
